We would like to cordially invite you...

From Youth and Democracy in the Americas we are excited to officially announce that we will be holding our 4th Annual Youth and Democracy in the Americas Summit in Washington, D.C. on October 19, 20 and 21. We will be discussing the following topics "The Americas working together to address regional challenges: Displacement, forced migration and the refugee crisis in Latin America; The role of the media and the press in promoting democratic governance and checks and balances; Challenges to the rule of law, democracy and hemispheric security in the Americas". The summit offers young leaders from the Americas the opportunity to discuss with diplomats, politicians, academics and government officials the main challenges facing their country. They will also share their goals and work experiences in overcoming these challenges and gain knowledge on how to strengthen democracy in their countries.

The summit will give young leaders coming from Venezuela, Nicaragua, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Argentina, Brazil, Haiti, Panama, Chile, Bolivia, Peru and other countries in the Americas, the unique opportunity to interface with diplomats engaged in efforts to maintain democracy in the region. They will also learn from knowledgeable political leaders, as well as from other young leaders on the role they can play in that process.

The event will feature the participation of heads of state, regional and international political leaders, diplomats, as well as members of the Organization of American States, U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
